Who we are
Hammerstuene is a food and guest house located in the old center of Surnadal, where the river meets the fjord.
We have function rooms, a pub and a restaurant, and offer accommodation. We do not have dropin, but are open when we have guests.
This means that there are not always people at the house, but in return we are flexible when it comes to bookings.
There are no fixed office hours and if you call without getting an answer, it is usually because we are busy
with serving, cooking or something like that.
We answer the phone as often as we can, and otherwise try to call back if we have missed a call.

I have taken the joy of growing, harvesting and eating with me from childhood. Young people from many countries worked with us in the summers and mother served home-made traditional food to everyone around the large kitchen table at home. For me, food is culture, tradition, friendship, atmosphere and community.
This is what we want to serve you who visit us.
